Reflective Journal 0309986 Ng Wei Xuan Ashley

This business report, my group had done a research and interview the owner of Indpro (M) Sdn.Bhd. This company is selling Spring Balancer, Self Locks, Uni-Joint Pipe, Fittings and etc. In the progress of doing this report, everything turn out to be just according to plan, we don’t face any problem as all group members are very cooperative and are willing to help each other. Therefore, there is no problem for us while preparing this report. The interviewing went very well and it is also the part I enjoyed most in this assignment. Interviewing the owner of Indpro (M) Sdn.Bhd directly is much interesting in a sense that I get to ask a specific question and get the exact answer from the owner immediately. Besides, I get to know even more knowledge from the owner personally from his pass experience which is never to be found from books, and I’m able to get information in a much more detail manner as the owner could explain to me if I don’t understand anything well. Furthermore, I do not need to worry about the reliability of the answer given because the answer given is directly from the company’s owner whom is facing and handling issues in reality and not just by reading or research.

Understand from the owner, Indpro (M) Sdn.Bhd was established since 1984 but it is not an international company till today. In my opinion, for a company which has survived for almost 30 years it is proven that this company has reached its stable stage. I would globalize this company in order to increase sales and make more profit. I would use the international franchising strategy to globalize this company. I would choose to use master franchising in each country. This is because Indpro (M) Sdn.Bhd is not a food and beverage or fashion industry. Indpro (M) Sdn.Bhd is selling machineries and mechanical tools which is undifferentiated product. Undifferentiated products are price elastic therefore, consumers will tend to compare the price of the products and franchisee will start a price war to gain sales which is unbeneficial for both parties. In this case, a master franchisee will be given the right to decide how far the distance each franchise should be located to prevent unwanted price war.


After doing this business report, I get to know how important communication act in a business role. Without proper communication method either internally or externally will affect a business operation and understanding of instructions. This will cause the progress to be inefficient and eventually lower the net profit of the business. Besides, I also learned that all problems no matter how big or small it is, it has to solve and never to ignore small matter because it will get worse time over time. Every party is an important role in a company in order for the business to achieve its goal efficiently and effectively.
